There was a request for a posting of Summaries for the remaining episodes of the season which we unfortunately were not able to write ourselves. With that in mind, we've decided to post a general summary of the episode that was to be next in line. If you guys want to read more (assuming there's still any of you out there), let us know and we'll see what we can do. Anyway, here it is...
Tru Calling, Episode 3x08
On a typical day like any other, something not so typical happens. A dead body asks for help from our heroine Tru Davies. What’s so different about that? Nothing happens. No rewind, no people to save, nothing. A day passes, then another, and another. Until eventually a whole week passes, each day bringing in a new body asking for help but nothing happens when they do. Then, finally, on the final day of the week, a rewind happens.
But this rewind is about as simple as the people who asked for help. Instead of one day rewinding, a whole week does. Tru must now spend an entire week saving people with no apparent connection one day at a time. With Jack one step ahead of her because of the dreams he receives from each victim, it’s a race against the calendar to keep lives safe and her life intact. To make matters worse, Tru receives a call from her sister saying she’s coming back to town. And so... Again We Go.
Dear RADF readers and supporters,
It is with sadness and regret that I finally make the announcement that has been, as some of you have probably gathered, a long time coming. After much deliberation and months full of failed attempts to avoid this, we are left with no choice but to end the project.
I want you all to know that this was not an easy decision. I have really enjoyed my time working as a head writer for RADF, and I am very thankful for the writing experience and the very rewarding comments we received from all of you these past couple of years. Unfortunately as the staff for the project dwindled, it just became too much for two people to handle, and I think it is best for everyone if we end things at this time. I apologize for stringing you guys along these past several months, but we were trying to bring in people to help us with the writing process in hopes of avoiding this. Unfortunately we were unsuccessful.
That being said, I am very proud of the seven episodes that we did produce, and I want to thank you all so much for supporting this project from day one. Thank you to the staff members, everyone who helped with the realization of the first seven episodes, and to all of the readers who took the time to enjoy our project and leave us feedback. I regret that we couldn't see the rest of our ideas to fruition, but at least it was good while it lasted.
And also, this decision has nothing to do with my love for Tru Calling. I will always love this show and its characters, and as much as we’d hoped to continue their story, it just isn’t going to happen. But please continue to enjoy the show. I believe reruns are now on the SciFi Network, and thankfully between dvds and fanfiction the show will never die unless the fans let it. So once again, I’m sorry if we’re letting any of you down, and I just hope you understand that the massive workload associated with this project just became too much to handle in addition to real-life and other responsibilities.
We feel really bad about this, but our efforts to get someone to help us with the writing process have pretty much all but failed. At this point the only sane thing to do is shut the project down for the forseeable future. As much as we love Tru and its characters and hoped to continue it, there's just no way that it's going to happen.
We had so much planned for this show that was cancelled way too soon and before its time. There were plans in place for a "season four" and a "season 5", but without the time to actually sit down and write it all, plans pretty much stay what they are... plans.
I'd like to personally apologize to anyone who might have still been waiting around for the next ep, but I understand anyone who kinda gave up on any hope a while back. If I were in your positions, I'd probably do the same. We let you guys down. The episodes we did manage to create were great stuff and I'd like to thank all those involved in making them happen. You did a great job and we appreciate it.
Nothing would make me happier than to be able to continue this project, but it was a huge undertaking and after a while we realized we were in over our heads. I, and everyone involved, would like to sincerely apologize for that. Tru Calling was an absolutely amazing show and deserved better. Keep the show in your hearts and enjoy it despite us and it'll never truly be over though.
Thank you so much for your time and support.
I know that you have probably all been wondering what is going to happen next since Kitty's announcement that she no longer has time for the virtual season. And I really, genuinely apologize for the amount of time that has passed without updates or new episodes. But...don't count us out yet.
The other head writer and I have decided that we definitely want to try our very best to, at the very least, finish out the season. We have had this story arc planned out for a very long time, and with all of the positive support this project has received, that is not something we want to throw away. Unfortunately things have gotten very stalled this year due to a variety of circumstances, but this is not the end.
As of right now, episode 8 is being written. It is too early to have any kind of "airdate", but I promise that as soon as I have that information you will be the first to know. I am still doing the mailing list, a lot of you have signed up for it and I fully intend to keep everyone updated via that method as promised.
With that being said, we have also decided that we are interested in bringing a new writer, or possibly writers, aboard the project. So, if you have always wanted to become involved in the virtual season, this is your chance! Obviously, experience with fanfiction and (even better) the Tru Calling fandom would be ideal. So, if you are interested, please email me (Erinsk8@nycap.rr.com) or leave a comment to this post.
Again, I thank you for your continued support and patience. I am genuinely sorry for all of the roadblocks we've encountered, but I feel confident in saying that this is not over.
But I am unable to continue this (personally) due to RL stress. I don't know what the other two will be doing, but from my end I can't really keep up with the VS anymore.
I'm sure that's the question on everyone's mind, and for that I apologize. I've run into some really time consuming and not so pleasant RL issues. The episode IS done, and has been for a long time, the problem was finding the time to send it off to the other headwriters, get it beta read, and get it live not to mention transcribed. I know that doesn't take a hell of a lot of time, but it seems like a lotwhen you have none.
Soo with that being said, because I'm not finding the time to keep this updated on a consistant basis I will most likely step down as webmistress or rather head writer and maintainer of this site. Now it's still being discussed what will happen as far as where the management lies. I know that FC and Erin both have lives too. But rest assured I won't pull a Fox and just let this die. We want to at the VERY LEAST finish out this season. And if we do choose that it will only be this season then we will end it on some clarity and bring some kind of closure, but hopefully things will look up and we will end in the season that we already predecided.
The next episode will be live sometime next week. I'm going to aim for this weekend, but it will probably be around Wednesday.
Hi everyone, it's Erin.
I just wanted to apologize everyone for the lack of news regarding the virtual season lately. We feel horrible that things have gotten so off track. So I suppose it's better late than never that I fill you guys in on what's been going on.
Basically, a lot of real-life, unforseen circumstances have come up that have really thrown off the schedule. There has been limited contact between us headwriters regarding the virtual season lately, and that is the reason that none of us have really been certain enough regarding where things stand to say anything formally.
As of right now, I can't give you an answer as to what is going to happen next, because I honestly don't know. We're working on making some important decisions regarding the future of this project, and all I can do is promise that once something concrete has been decided, you will be the first to know. We all appreciate your support for this project SO much, even though it might seem like we're not showing it very well. I want to sincerely apologize for making people wait so long without an update or any news. So I promise that as soon as we have something to announce, I will announce it.
So again, my apologies. Hopefully I will have something more solid to report soon.
